Instagram Filters: Good or Bad?

Let’s go over the big ‘good’ and ‘bad’ filters that may damage or support your profile right now:

  1. The Green Screen Filter

You can use green screen on both Instagram and TikTok and it’s a great way to ‘add yourself’ inside a video to explain things clearer. I did one a little while ago to explain how we make video memes! I feel it can be even more engaging than a voice over and a great way to engage with your audience.

  2. Humanising Filters

Not everyone wants to be the face of the brand or a content creator. In that case ‘humanising’ your brand by using filters that add ‘eyes and mouth’ over still objects can be fun and entertaining! @Duolingo are hilarious on TikTok and are a true example of not having to use a persons face in order to go viral.

  3. Beauty Filters

Certain filters can make others feel like there’s something hidden or you’re not fully-open about you or the results of the product (which I’m sure is not the case for you, so don’t hide that beautiful face girl)! If anything a spot or no mascara can actually show others that you’re also human, normal and super relatable!

  4. AR Filters

AR adds to reality through phones and tablets. Designing your own AR filters can be super fun and a great way for your audience to try before they make a purchase! However, these are a little harder to set up and implement, but if you’re on it, you go girl!

  5. Background Filters

We’ve all been there on Zoom calls adding palm tree backgrounds behind us to avoid the mess in the room. On social media, if chosen well, the background filters can be great and very on-trend as seen in some trending videos! BUT, be careful with over-using them and not being consistent with your aesthetics and style.

Our notes: Enjoy new updates, filters, test, try and use them! BUT know your aesthetics, the style and make sure your USP and key values stay the same.
